Wall Art Size Guide

Choosing wall art is easier when you compare the artwork with the furniture and open wall beneath it. Canvas Memory currently offers three horizontal sizes designed for wide spaces such as the wall above a sofa, bed or console.

Choose the Size That Fits Your Space

40 × 20 in

A practical option for smaller sofas, apartments, narrow wall sections or rooms where you want the artwork to feel present without dominating the space.

46 × 23 in

A balanced middle size for many living rooms. Choose this when 40 × 20 in feels too small but the wall does not need the strongest oversized effect.

58 × 28 in

The largest option and the strongest focal point. It is better suited to wider walls, larger sofas and open-plan living areas.

How to Check Before Ordering

  1. Measure the width of your sofa, bed or console.
  2. Measure the open wall area where the artwork will hang.
  3. Use painter’s tape to outline the artwork dimensions on the wall.
  4. Step back and check the outline from the main viewing position in the room.
  5. Confirm that the artwork feels connected to the furniture below it and does not look lost on the wall.

Placement Tips

  • Center the artwork with the furniture below it rather than with the entire wall.
  • Leave enough space between the furniture and artwork so they do not appear crowded.
  • For a sofa wall, test the outline while seated and standing before choosing the final height.
  • Check doors, lamps, shelves and other nearby objects before selecting the largest size.
